so my ethernet download speed is about 320 mbps, but it should be closer to 900-950 mbps. the upload speed is around 820 on wifi near the router, with both connections using roughly 320 mbps. multiple internet speed testers agree on this range for actual downloads from steam and brave. if you need details, let me know and i will post them, but please specify which specs you're looking for.

The easiest approach is to perform a factory reset on your router. Often, you set up features that block hardware acceleration. A reset with just basic settings (admin password, SSID name, and WIFI passwords) should suffice. After that, re-test. If performance improves, it means something like a firewall rule, QOS setting, or traffic logging is affecting speed. Any of these can force the router to handle all traffic through the CPU, which greatly reduces efficiency.
