All components except the drivers are covered. I've reviewed the utility and manual. The data shield uses added encryption. No drivers are present. Access is available via Tor in Denmark or the US.

I'll likely rely on the built-in encryption of your operating system (like BitLocker for Windows). There will probably be more extensive testing and security checks for BitLocker compared to SSD manufacturer software, and it will be more seamlessly integrated into Windows.

The SSD driver manages how the drive communicates with the system. Unlike a GPU that needs regular software updates, an SSD simply runs smoothly until it becomes too full, at which point performance drops. The driver’s main job is to ensure efficient data transfer and proper operation under varying load conditions.

When a driver is involved, it relates to the SATA controller on your board or chipset. The interaction with the drive follows normal procedures, and the operating system doesn't need to intervene.
