It seems your download speed has been inconsistent despite normal tests. Your PC shows no signs of malware, yet performance drops unexpectedly. Investigate other factors like network congestion or hardware limitations.

Check if the problem is widespread or specific to your connection. Compare your packet loss across different servers and use traceroute to a trusted site like Google to see what you get.

Typical files appear in formats other than what your internet service provider advertises. They measure speed in Mbps or Mega Bits per Second, but most download stats are shown in Mega Bytes per Second. The conversion is straightforward: 8 bits equals one byte. Therefore, at 160Mbps you should expect downloads around 15 to 20MB/s.

download speed varies based on your connection source...some servers are heavily loaded...a single hop might be slowing things down...actually, I’m at 200 Mbps but never exceed 100...mostly between 30 to 50 Mbps.

I understand this context, though I should note that such speeds are atypical and have only occurred recently.

Keep in mind...there might be a poor connection close by or problems with the network path to the site, which can impact download speed about nine out of ten times once it's resolved or the connection is updated.
