Download Problem – Retrieve Stopped Damaged Drive
The computer indicates the hard drive is operating normally, and I’ve attempted to resolve the issue by restoring the drive, removing Steam, formatting the drive, and clearing my download cache within Steam. Despite these efforts, nothing functions on my D: Drive. If anyone can suggest a solution, please advise.
My motherboard isn’t designed for overclocking, therefore I cannot. This storage device is increasingly frustrating me seriously.
I could attempt to utilize Origin to initiate the games; if I can successfully run them through Origin, then I’ll remove Steam and install Ubuntu—LOL. [EDIT: I realize how foolish I was, and cannot connect the games to Origin until they've been downloaded.]
There might still be an issue originating from Windows. For how long have you been utilizing this specific Windows installation? My recommended course of action would be to attempt a rollback if feasible, or alternatively, perform a complete reinstallation of everything on the drive.
I haven’t downloaded hdtune yet because my internet service was unavailable for a short time, but I plan to do so tomorrow. Furthermore, when attempting to download through other programs—such as Ubisoft and Origin—they indicated that the hard drive is damaged, which has left me somewhat puzzled.
