Most of the apps work well, though some feel unnecessary.

Great choice with OP. Linux isn't always a perfect swap for Windows, but it's solid for your needs. I appreciate you sharing your experience—Ubuntu works well for me, especially since I don’t play games or rely on Adobe tools.

It's reasonable to eliminate the Amazon spyware. You'll be confident it's completely removed on Ubuntu.

They’re not monitoring you in person, yet their systems are tracking you. I doubt Microsoft has any interest, but the authorities do.

Creating a version that avoids false malware detection is the goal.

Explaining this involves understanding how data collection works. Governments may analyze large volumes of information to identify patterns in voting behavior or public interests. However, servers themselves don’t have consciousness or the ability to monitor individuals. They simply store data unless there are specific legal reasons for access. People’s online activities are aggregated and analyzed by authorities only when it serves a clear purpose, such as election oversight or security concerns. No one from the government is expected to track personal habits like visiting porn sites, and such surveillance would require significant legal justification.

Do you legitimately not care about all your login, financial and anything else being saved on thousands of servers that anyone can access? Everything is breakable. Security is just a wall. Not an invincible shield. We shouldn't let companies do this to us. This is a huge security issue. Not to mention the government can exploit people or businesses. You might not THINK they're looking at you, but for large companies and important people... they are.

Major firms and influential individuals should rely on robust privacy safeguards, tor, and perhaps specialized operating systems that restart automatically when the computer powers off. For a government official, imagine receiving an email warning you about restrictions on certain actions with your device. Most sensitive data is already stored across numerous locations, so changes like Microsoft joining won’t affect it. Also, remember that no one can reach the content on the deep web—try to locate your credit card info only if you truly believe someone might try.

They gather your information through various organizations like Microsoft, Google, Apple, and others via the PRISM program. By reviewing their privacy policies, you can discover what data they collect and how it’s used. They may share this information with the government when required. It’s not about constant surveillance, but rather about collecting and storing your data if necessary. Watch the linked videos for more insight: https://youtu.be/XEVlyP4_11M, https://youtu.be/MKnnnufSYLo, and https://archive.org/details/NSA-PRISM-Slides. You can explore related topics on NSA, PRISM, or Snowden to grasp the surveillance debate.
