Initially, I wasn't sure this was necessary for console gaming. The title mentioned color quality loss during streaming from my Xbox One to my PC. Since I started playing Tomb Raider with a Gold Membership, I've been streaming it to my PC for comfort. Today, after a long day, I noticed the colors on my Xbox ONE are much richer and more vivid compared to what I experienced when streaming via Xbox for Windows. This raises questions—does this occur when streaming from consoles? I have sufficient bandwidth and speeds to stream in 1080p at full quality, yet I'm frustrated because I feel the game should be available for free on PC. I’m concerned about paying for something I already have access to. Could others be experiencing the same issue? I almost purchased Halo 5 to stream it and get a better visual experience, but I was glad I didn’t. Also, this isn’t just my setup; my monitor supports better color quality than both PC and Xbox versions, and Tomb Raider isn’t the only game affected. It also happens with The Walking Dead: Season One. I’m not sure about the problem, but it’s definitely bothering me.
It means the video is set to the highest possible resolution but then compressed into 1080p, which lowers image quality and colour depth. It's still technically 1080p, but the picture looks less sharp. This is similar to how some platforms offer high-quality settings that get reduced when compressed. Don't worry, it's just a technical step for faster delivery. (PC master race faces the same issues with Steam in home streaming.)
