Has anyone used the sweet FX mod? It seems to be functioning, but Dota 2 may block custom files. The 'override_vpk' command is another option people mention.

Reviewed its updates and logs. The last change was in July 2014. Time to look for other options.

Initially they turned off all file changes, but they introduced a way to allow specific modifications. Most updates are now non-visual, such as announcements.

You simply placed the files in the bin folder, and that's all set. The SweetFx with the Moonlight effect (Dota item) appears really nice.
