Incredible, they’ve eliminated all that contributed to DOOM’s success... DOOM... Quake-style multiplayer, weapon placements across the map that fostered strategy... now we’re facing load outs??? I’m tired of this generation of gamers, they mess things up so much. Long live the classic approach.

Games evolve, either by adjusting the rules or by sticking to ut99.

it's nice you never played the original doom since my mom stopped letting you after she noticed my brother was into it. games evolve, they adapt to what appeals to the most players. now everyone seems focused on call of duty, but that’s just the trend. if you’re curious, you can try the older titles—it’s why they still exist. you might even find a way to create something you love if you really put in the effort. people won’t judge your choice, and it’s okay if it doesn’t match what you expected.

It's basically Halo featuring Doom-inspired skins, but you won't understand why. The authentic Quake or UT experiences are completely missing from major AAA titles now.

We can't keep supporting 99' graphics indefinitely...

The experience focuses on action rather than visuals.

All that was left of Doom was a mess. What? Doom never had any characters that mattered.

DOOM retained its quake-inspired feel, though it wasn't executed very effectively in DOOM 3.

It's true I don't often play top-tier AAA titles anymore—they all feel pretty similar these days. I prefer indie games, though I do enjoy playing Skyrim and GTA 5 from time to time. I also have a few PS1 and PS2 AAA games in my collection.
