I've turned off the Steam overlay, but it still happens occasionally. I'm streaming at 1440p ultra and keep the frame rate around 100 fps. Sometimes it drops to 50-70 fps without any reason and stays there until I restart, which doesn't always solve the issue. I've checked everything else, but the problem might be with the recent AMD driver release.
AMD hasn't issued a fresh Windows 10/11 driver on December 8, 2022. It might be worth checking the system's performance and looking for memory leaks in RAM or VRAM.
It's unique to this game. I completed Doom 2016 without any issues.
Check the game's environment settings. Overloading VRAM or using excessive system RAM might trigger this problem.
I recall hearing about an issue in Doom Eternal that only impacts a few players. If you're among the fortunate and encounter strange frame drops by setting the texture pool to ultra nightmare, it might fix itself automatically. For laughs, you could try it just for fun; otherwise, reducing the texture pool size would free up some GPU space.
