The issue is a power supply that isn’t powerful enough for your setup. With an ATI Radeon HD 4250, 512MB VRAM, and an IGPU motherboard, you should be able to run Doom without major problems if the PSU can handle the load.

It seems to support DX11, DX12, and Vulkan APIs. Uncertain about DX9 or other versions included.

Your GPU should be capable of handling it, assuming it meets the required specifications.

Unlikely to be referring to Doom 2016, as the source material doesn't match. - https://www.notebookcheck.net/ATI-Radeon...664.0.html it's quite poor

I really wanted to give it a shot, so I’ll ask my friend to use a functional setup and download it soon before the free trial ends.

My PSU is significantly underpowered, and even light usage causes it to fail.

You can start the free trial right away and test the game with your 770. Also, Doom 2016 employs Vulkan and OpenGL rather than DX.

At volt levels, the CPU and GPU can manage a 450-watt power draw.

I wasn’t certain about the technology, but I understood it relied on Vulkan. Since your friend has a 4K display, your 770 graphics card likely won’t perform well.
