Doom 2016
Doom 2016
I haven't even started playing multiplayer yet. I just got the Crucible on Ultra Violence and I have to admit, single-player has been incredibly impressive so far. All that remains is for someone to recreate level 29 "The Living End" in DOOM 2 to finish the experience.
I just completed Doom's SP on nightmare as my initial run, it was really enjoyable and satisfying to overcome each stage when every foe inflicts heavy damage. After a few sessions with MP, things seemed fine. I’m hoping they introduce a mode without the loadout system and release an official free-for-all deathmatch option. Instagib would also be awesome.
Crash reports usually point to driver problems. DDU is recommended, and the newest drivers have boosted my frame rates even more in SLI 970 setups (reaching 180 fps on ultra). I experienced a crash during startup with outdated drivers before updating.
I had 2 CTD's in my entire playthrough. One on the last driver package, and on the latest we have now. But nothing since those two separate incidents. Games been nothing but awesome since I started it, and I'm on my 2nd playthrough now finding more secrets. Have not even touched MP, and likely won't for quite some time. Also a bit annoyed that snap map player counts are so low...
It's not really the case, the MP is merely an extra feature at most, which is why it was managed by another team. Similar to Wolfenstein and Uncharted, you purchase the game for its unique aspects.
A few individuals, even me, focused more on the multiplayer features of the game.
Post-release feedback on the multiplayer has been slightly more accepting than during the beta phase, suggesting it isn’t as flawed as many games that have significantly improved their multiplayer features. The experience is functional. The main concern revolves around its long-term viability, particularly if the developer intends to segment the player base through paid map packs. Ultimately, it’s a purchase decision based on personal preference.
I'm sure a few were thinking it shouldn't have multiplayer at all.
I also had one crash during the first hour of gameplay. No other crashes since, and everything has been fine. I still haven't tried MP, I'm just having way too much fun on the SP campaign! I can't remember the last time I was this excited about a game! I love it. I was giggling like a little school girl while playing it last night! I love the kill animations when you do a glory kill!
