Mine Sweeper is a predecessor to Minecraft. It's considered one of the top games of all time.

I understand it's normal for some to be unfamiliar with Minesweeper or even the connection between a pencil and a cassette tape. It seems Microsoft likely removed it around Windows 8.1. The game remains free to download.

Note: The game is straightforward. Hidden mines lie beneath the tiles. Clicking on a mine tile triggers an explosion, resulting in failure. Your goal is to identify all hidden mines by analyzing clues. Use the numbers on adjacent tiles as guidance. Tip: Begin with the corner tiles for quicker progress. The quicker you locate the mines, the better your score. Right-click tiles to indicate possible mine presence.
