Does your laptop lack a backlight?
This refers to whether there is a backlight for the keyboard or if there is any backlight on the screen.
Take the device away from the wall, take apart the laptop, detach the internal battery, remove the RAM module from the laptop and hold the power button for 30 seconds. If your laptop comes with two RAM sticks, start with one, then attempt to restart using the power brick instead of the internal battery.
The display employs edge-lit LED illumination. Although LED drivers generally last longer than CCFL inverters because of their lower voltage, they still fail eventually. Unlike inverters, these drivers are usually built into the panel and cannot be replaced separately.
Refer to the service manual for guidance. Page 51 provides instructions on whether you might attempt a DIY replacement. If the laptop is beyond repair, consider using it with an external monitor.
