Does your laptop have a broken charger plug?
I have an issue with my Acer Nitro 5. I haven't used it in a long time and the battery wouldn't charge so I thought it was broken and needed a replacement. I noticed that the charging light turns off on the laptop when I move the charger cable. I looked at the cable to see if there were broken wires, but the problem seems to come from the port itself. The charger is a round connector, and when the connector spins/rotates inside the charging port (like when moving the laptop) it randomly acts like it's unplugged. I've been able to reproduce this several times by spinning the connector while it's in the charging slot. I tried to clean dust out of the port and the connector but nothing fixed it. I don't know if this problem can be fixed, maybe by getting a new charger or if there is something wrong on the motherboard. But I don't think it's the battery anymore. After I made sure the light was on and then didn't touch the laptop to make sure the cable wasn't bumped, the battery finally started charging. Also, when spinning/moving the cable while the laptop is on, Windows makes a "beep" sound which it normally does when I disconnect the power cord. So, it clearly thinks the cable is being disconnected even though it isn't.
Maybe swapping it would fix things too, especially if the plug breaks. You can test this yourself with a low-cost voltmeter: if the reading looks right on the side, then the problem is with your computer's port.
My motherboard looks a bit different, and it doesn't fit that way. I posted photos on OneDrive here: https://1drv.ms/u/s!AmL8aIYnOOzpue5rMOQS...A?e=KOxrxV
You'll need that item, but you have to solder it on the circuit board.
