I wonder why if I touch my VRAM it gets very hot, even though my core has +223 and the VRAM is okay. So confused :/ gpu is xfx r9 290 dd

I know how to fix it Smile
If I touch my VRM, my VRM1 gets really hot but I have +223 on the core and the VRM is fine. So confused :/ GPU is XFX R9 290 DDR.
You need to identify which VRM powers the memory. If overclocking causes heat problems, try removing the heatsink, reapplying good thermal paste (like Noctua NT-H1), and see if it helps. GPU boards can "heat soak," meaning hot parts can affect others.
You might also consider adding small aluminum heatsinks, though finding ones that fit under a GPU heatsink without changes can be tricky.
But is putting thermal paste on the VRM actually bad?
