I own an HP Pavilion laptop equipped with a 2.2 GHz Core 2 Duo processor, ATI Mobility Radeon 4650 graphics card, and 8 GB of memory. I’m hoping to enjoy online games at my school, but their internet restrictions prevent it. Consequently, I require a VPN connection. However, my laptop already operates at its maximum capacity when playing many games, and I’m concerned that running a VPN simultaneously would negatively impact my gaming performance. I am currently utilizing ProtoVPN for this purpose. Thank you.
likely not. it could simply decrease your online connection’s pace.
I resolved to test this myself at home, and it appears there’s no discernible change, though the underlying question remains out of simple curiosity: What exactly is the impact on system resources—if any—that a VPN incurs?
