Does using a higher GPU usage or FPS happen when the game looks blurry?
I get way better FPS when I press Windows or alt-tab while playing, but if I keep the game running, my performance drops drastically. Why is this? My rig is a RTX 4090, 14900K CPU with a 5.9GHz clock, and I'm using an Intel iGPU to run games in fullscreen on a second monitor. I've tried everything: resetting the BIOS, unplugging my extra monitor, switching between borderless and full-screen modes, even changing games just for testing. It's driving me crazy so much that I feel desperate after trying to search online all day yesterday. Here is a link to a video showing what happens when you keep pressing those keys.
Does this happen only once or in other games? If just once, which specific game causes it? Try restarting the PC from scratch and see if things get better - be careful to follow the steps and make sure you don't turn off any Microsoft services or Windows won't start. Here is a link for help on how to do this: https://support.microsoft.com/en-au/help...in-windows It doesn't delete anything, it just stops programs that aren't from Microsoft from starting up. It's very easy to undo if the problem goes away. If restarting fixes it, you should restart all those stopped programs one by one until you find which specific program is causing the issue. Sometimes things like an Nvidia overlay can make this happen too.
Still nothing new happened. I tried taking out all my DDU drivers, reinstalling them, but switching back to an older version. It's exactly like before.
I have played both Overwatch 2 and Cyberpunk on my system. I get very smooth graphics in Overwatch 2, but the game becomes really laggy with one person playing at a time. With Cyberpunk, it is also slow even though I made sure to use the best motherboard (ASUS Z790 Prime A) and updated everything correctly.
I just tested my graphics card when I was gaming, so it's showing me four gigabytes of data on the PCIe line.
I tried all the different power settings and it's still exactly the same, lol.
i have found one person with this exact issue in Overwatch. it looks like many games are affected by this same problem. it might happen because of how output caps work, but when you switch tabs or alt-tab, the performance changes completely. sometimes the game runs perfectly while no one else is looking at it, but it lags a lot as soon as you focus on it instead.
Hi everyone! I'm really stuck now. My game feels super smooth right in my Editor (1000 FPS). But once I start building and run the build, if someone focuses on that window, the FPS drops to 30. When I click away and lose focus, it goes back up to 1000 again. This discussion about unity.com might be a game engine issue instead of something local.
