SPEC I9 12900ks with 128gb ddr4 3200mhz, 1000w corsair, gpu 1 rx 6800, motherboard gigabyte z690 ud ax ddr4 lga 1700, gpu 2 intel arc 750, 2x nvme samsung 870s 2tb, 14tb hdd sata, 8tb hdd sata, cooler thermalright aqua elite 360 argb liquid cpu cooler, case caorsair 4000d airflow. The issue is that to run the cpu at its maximum speed i need something better; i’m currently getting a 91c on my cpu with cinebench. The rx 6800 gpu has been fine but i experience annoying stuttering when using adobe, so i’m considering an rtx 4080s as well since adobe seems to prefer cuda. i plan to install a 1200w psu for long-term use and also think about getting the corsair 7000d.
Gigabyte Z690 UD AX DDR4 LGA 1700 BIOS version?
How is the AIO positioned in your chassis? What are the fan counts and orientations in your setup? I plan to evaluate the RTX5000 series first before deciding on the RTX4080 Super or similar options. Corsair is the chosen brand, and the unit claims 1000W power output. Could you share the PSU model and its age?
Moved this discussion from the Components section to the Systems section.
What clocks are you getting while running cinebench? Running in the 90's is pretty typical for the 12900ks on stock all-core boost. You could try going push-pull configuration on your rad (3 fans on each side) if you could fit it in your case to knock the temps down a few degrees.
I do agree on waiting on what the RTX 5000 series would bring. If anything it might bring the price of the 4000 series down. A 4070ti super or a used 3090 would be good enough to keep up with the i9 but if the 4080 super is in your budget then I don't see why not.
5.0p xores and 4.0ghz on e cores cpu draw around 280ws
I’ve considered the RTX 5000s, but since I’m in Australia, the prices will be much higher than what we usually pay in USD.
I'm still figuring out what to get between the RX 50 and the RX 4070, what do you think?
I would say wait until the reviews before pulling the trigger on either.
