Using a dvd didn't improve the situation. It started up, I briefly saw the setup menu, but then it crashed. (Restarted)

Is your boot drive not working? Try switching to another SSD or M.2 drive. Using a new Windows installation DVD and a USB might indicate a problem with your motherboard? You may want to think about a replacement warranty.

I currently have a 2013 Gigabyte 990FXA UD5 motherboard equipped with 32 GB of 1600 MHz RAM, an A GTX 1050 Ti 4GB GPU, an AMD 9370 4.7 GHZ 8 Core CPU, Seasonic 1050 PSU, a WD Blue 1 TB SSD, and a Seagate 2 TB Hybrid SSD HDD, along with a Blu-ray DVD drive for $200.00. This setup had been stored for six years. All this equipment fits into an NZXT Full Size case. The aftermarket liquid cooler did not work properly, and the system would not boot at all initially. I swapped it out for the original 120MM AMD liquid cooler, which is now functioning well after two years of running Windows 11 with the latest 24H2 OS. I mainly use American Truck Simulator and other less demanding games on this rig. Cheers from a seasoned gamer and PC builder. Hope you find success in fixing your PC and enjoy its performance again.

Yeah but what's the chance both of my M2s are bad? And my original motherboard, the new one, the RAM, and a fresh set of RAM sticks? According to the shop. The 980 worked fine before I brought it in (full diagnostic scan on Samsung Magician). Now I might replace the faulty drive they installed and clone it back to restore Windows on the 980.

I hope the failing drive will be sufficient to clone your Windows Installation onto your 980. It’s hard to believe such a lot of hardware can give up at once, which is quite puzzling. I plan to do some research to find a solution that works. There are other users here who excel in diagnostics. Have you checked if the Intel Management Engine was updated? Intel ME suggests it can be installed together with BIOS update 1805. This remains uncertain. Could there be an overheating problem with the CPU? I recall from past experiences that CPUs would reach their maximum clock speed and get quite hot during a Windows Install. I’m offering some suggestions nonetheless.

CMOS reset Reseat CPU and repaste.
In the BIOS are the USB ports all enabled? Is XMP active or inactive? Are you seeing all RAM correctly with the right speeds?
Please advise.
Thank you. I truly hope you can resolve this issue quickly. I understand how frustrating it is when your system has multiple problems and service centers don’t provide reliable help. They often charge more without offering dependable guidance.

I talked to the management at the shop, and they’re offering me a partial refund and waiving charges so I can try again. (Unless I really need new equipment) It’ll be worth watching how it turns out.
