Welcome to the forums, new member!
In reality, that PSU and all other green-labeled Corsair PSUs are intended for disposal. Consider a dependably constructed 550W power supply for your project.

This wasn't just a bad PSU—it's a really bad one made more than ten years ago, which makes it an even worse choice. I could try testing fans or a pump with it, but that's about it.

Usually this cx430 isn't a great choice, and I wouldn't suggest using it for your setup. Have you already tried running this system with the same power supply? If so, you might have a reason to keep it because the chances of failure are low. However, it's not the best approach.

The S suffix processors are low power models.
The 450ww psu can handle a 970.
However, as others mentioned, the psu is outdated and lacks superior performance.
If you own one, give it a try.
If not, seek a more robust option with better quality.
