I recently assembled my first gaming setup with a Ryzen 3 3100 CPU. While putting it together, I frequently adjusted and removed the stock cooler because the screws didn’t fit well. Eventually, I secured it by tightening them in a cross pattern. During that process, I swapped in and out the Wraith Stealth cooler several times—never creating any mess, just applying paste only above the CPU. Now my idle temperature is around 50°C, and during games it reaches about 70°C, sometimes even up to 75°C. I read reviews saying the idle temps are low, but never exceeding 75°C. How can I be sure the paste is working? Should I be concerned? Thanks.

The idle and load temperatures are satisfactory, and regardless of the situation, idle readings are acceptable while load readings remain solid.

Consider taking out the cooler to verify its placement. If it doesn’t sit correctly, it could cause issues.

If the application wasn't strong enough or the cooler wasn't positioned right, the temperatures wouldn't have been as favorable.
