Hi, possibly I'm asking a dumb question, but I'm a bit confused so if be grateful for any advice...
I've just built a new system and it's not even getting to the POST stage.
The system is:
Ryzen 7 7700
Gigabyte B650 Gaming A X
GTX 1070
Crucial DDR5 2x16GB 5600MHz
EVGA 550W GT
When I power the system on the DRAM light illuminates and then nothing happens.
Maybe something I'm missing, my PSU doesn't have a 4pin CPU out, just the 8pin. Could this be the issue or does it sound more like a bigger problem?
Many thanks, David

Are all power plugs linked to the PSU, including two for the 24pin ATX connector (1x18pin and 1x10pin) and an 8pin CPU plug? There are also eight pins for the CPU (three connectors from PSU to two motherboard connectors). Did you attach the 8pin CPU power plug? No extra 4-pin is required unless you're overclocking or using dual GPUs. Which slots did you use for the DRAM? Did you connect the power plug to the 1070?

Hi, 1070 is operational with the RAM installed in the A2 and B2 slots as specified. The 8pin CPU power connection is confirmed. I haven't attempted to flash the BIOS yet, that's for later...

Hi, I attempted to flash the BIOS but didn't succeed. It seems the motherboard might be the problem since it was previously 'refurbished'.

It turns out the motherboard is the issue, allowing access to POST.
