The MSI 450 Gaming Pro Carbon AC should work with a Ryzen 5 3600 as is, without needing BIOS updates.

By default, these devices aren't included. Reach out to the seller for clarification—some may release updates later.

The availability of BIOS updates varies by region and model. Some boards include support for Ryzen 3rd generation, while others do not. Since my B450 wasn’t updated, I had to ask the store if they could install it. It really depends on your location and other factors. Those that are marked as compatible with Ryzen 3rd Gen are likely to work, but it’s uncertain.

When purchasing a new board, opting for an x570 at the same cost as the pro carbon b450 works well. Prices are similar since the online search showed the x570 around 160, which fits the typical range for that model. Just keep an eye on June when the b550 is expected to launch.

Hey, I bought the B450 Gaming Pro Carbon AC with the same CPU as yours (R5 3600) a week ago, and it’s functioning perfectly right now. No BIOS updates needed at first. If you own a laptop, you can save the BIOS update to a USB drive and install it that way.
