Hey there! I'm trying to figure out why my older motherboard works with one RAM stick but not another. I have an MSI 870-G45 running a stock AMD Phenom II X6, and I currently use a 4GB Mushkin Silverline 2x2GB kit (PC3-10666, 1333MHz). It functions fine on its own, but when I switch to a G.Skill Ripjaws 12800/1600MHz 4x2GB kit, it only works with one stick at a time. I don’t know what’s causing this behavior—it seems like a strange issue. Are there any BIOS settings I should adjust? Could the speed of the RAM be limiting compatibility? It looks like all three sticks work except after an upgrade from 8GB to 16GB, so it might be related to that change.
