Hello,
I found a peculiar issue with my computer recently.
While playing games or running demanding applications that strain both CPU and GPU, the monitor gradually turns black, usually after about an hour of gameplay.
If this happens, I can perform a "blind" restart using only the keyboard or mouse if I manage to locate the necessary buttons without seeing them. However, other methods of restarting the system don’t resolve the problem.
After restarting immediately after the screen goes black, the BIOS screen appears and the OS boot animation displays, but the display quickly turns back to black. Once I wait a few minutes before attempting another blind reboot, everything functions normally again.
But the issue reappears sooner—after just 5 to 15 minutes—with identical symptoms. This also happens when resetting all OC settings.
I have an Intel Core i7-4790K, an AMD RX-5700 XT and an MSI Z87 XPOWER Mainboard.
Could this be related to thermal paste or pads? I’ve replaced them all, but the temperature never exceeds 60°C.
What might be causing this, and how can it be fixed?

Include the age of the PSU along with its make and model. Also, note the BIOS version for your motherboard at this time.
Attempt to run DDU to uninstall all GPU drivers (Intel, Nvidia, AMD) in Safe Mode, then install the newest driver from AMD’s support site using an elevated command—right-click the installer and select Run as Administrator.
If I wait a few minutes before performing a reboot, everything works normally again. However, the issue reappears after just 5 to 15 minutes, especially when resetting all OC settings.
This might suggest a problem with your PSU being faulty or failing.

My PSU consumes no more than 200 W from the power outlet and provides 11.9 Volts on its 12V-rail. During testing with an oscilloscope at a disconnected PCIe power port, a voltage drop of 0.003 volts was observed when switching from idle to full load.
Reinstalling drivers or even the entire operating system does not alter the issue. The problem persists across both Windows and Linux environments. Do you have alternative suggestions for resolving this?
