The PSU is consistently producing a high-pitched whine. It's not about the sound itself, but whether it could be damaging.

The Corsair RM 850E model was included, but the forgotten part wasn't added.

I received a computer around 2019 that had a power supply with this issue. The owner was worried it would explode, so he asked just to replace the squealer. He left it fixed and gave me the old power supply. It might not be your problem, but it turned out to be dirty coils that look like donuts made of wire. I still have his old power supply somewhere in my build. Check the power supply through the vents using a flashlight to see how dirty it is. You can use a blow dryer and blow back into the PC so it expels what the power supply pushed inside. Just avoid touching the power supply for safety. It could be a simple explanation for the squeal.

it is brand new and i've used it for roughly a day. will you consider bringing it back to microcenter, and could it have affected your components?

Sure, let's keep it simple.
Yeah, if it's a new exchange, that's what matters.

I'm receiving mixed feedback on this... some believe it won't cause any damage, though it might irritate or inconvenience me, while a few consider it a real problem. As stated, noise isn't an issue for me; what worries me is the durability and components of my system. Would you still recommend returning it?

As you mentioned on the power supply, the noise remains even now. The main problem was dust, but I’d be annoyed if it kept buzzing constantly.

The RME series is recognized for its poor sound quality, but that doesn't bother me since my fans handle the noise well.
