Hello, the Corsair TX650w 80 Gold PSU has damaged two cables on the header, and the small metallic connectors are significantly wider now. Should an electrician repair the entire 24-pin cable or would it be better to replace the whole PSU? I've experienced this issue for five years.

The PSU needs a 7-year warranty, which could allow for a replacement if necessary. Otherwise, it's better to purchase a new PSU rather than attempting to repair the cable.

I think hiring someone to fix it probably isn't the most cost-effective decision. Perhaps invest the funds in a fresh power supply instead.
Swapping the actual connector is quite simple. The key is mastering the small tool that releases the pins from the connector. I'm not familiar with a 24-pin setup, but it uses the standard Molex pins. You'll likely find plenty of YouTube tutorials.
Given the intricacy of a 24-pin version, it might be better to replace one pin at a time with the new connector rather than removing all pins and trying to remember the connections.

I hurt my self two of the header pins because, somehow, when you connect to the mobo or a PSU tester tool, it stops after 10 seconds if you slightly move the cables of the 24-pin connector. It powered up the PSU again, but some contacts seem to be off even though I never touched it before.

Check if your system is compatible with a 450w non-brand power supply.

For accurate guidance, we must have the full specifications of the entire system, including the make and model of every installed part.
