Does RAM speed matter?
Which Intel B460 model do you own? Are there overclocking settings available in the BIOS? This memory likely uses a Jedec/XMP profile at 2400MHz, so its base speed matches that XMP setting if one exists.
I haven't installed the system yet; I'm just organizing my thoughts. My motherboard is a Gigabyte B460 HD3 full-size ATX unit. I'm pretty sure the BIOS supports XMP/OC since it's a newer model. Are there any RAM types that don't work with XMP? That's what you're curious about.
Occasionally, common frequency kits such as 2400 or 2666mhz lack an XMP profile. When present, it usually matches the standard speeds of Jedec. The chip will function properly, but achieving a significant overclock won't be ideal—pushing from 2400 to 2666mhz certainly shows improvement.
Your profile picture seems to be an RGB washing machine or a steaming water cooling tank.
Absolutely love it! I’d definitely go for that washing machine right away! 😄
