Does PC fail to start completely?
anybody could assist me?
I was using my PC last night and today it won’t turn on, the RGB LEDs on the motherboard are lit but that’s all, no boot lights or anything is working.
I’ve tried disconnecting everything except RAM, but nothing happened. I removed the CMOS battery too, but still nothing. I even tried shorting the power switch with a screwdriver in case it was the power button, but it didn’t work.
I also checked my kids’ PSU and still no luck—they have a Corsair 550w, so I don’t think that’s the issue. I’m not sure if I should try their PC or mine.
Motherboard: ASUS Rog Strix B650-A
CPU: Ryzen 5 7600X
RAM: 16GB
Water cooled
Help me please
🙁
No, nothing was overclocked. There were only a few problems, mainly with my WiFi not working last night. I had to reinstall the drivers. My PSU is a Rog Strix 1000w. I recently replaced my GPU because the old one was leaking. The new one is an Nvidia GTX 5060 Ti. I just connected my PSU to my kids' PC and it worked fine, but their system is much less powerful than mine.
I found this on an old motherboard recently. I replaced the CPU, RAM, CMOS battery, boot drive, etc., but nothing worked. It seems the motherboard is likely dead from age or the BIOS is damaged.
Unless you have endless spare parts and can replace components one by one, figuring out the issue is tough. Sorry,
Sometimes starting the PC without RAM, then shutting it down and installing a DIMM can bring the BIOS back online when it notices a memory change.
You might also attempt to gently remove the CPU from its socket, inspect for bent pins, and reinsert it carefully. There could be weak contact between the CPU and the socket.
My CPU isn't working properly—it lacks those problematic pins. I've tried turning it off without RAM or the CPU and still got nothing. I'm considering the motherboard might be dead because pressing the flash BIOS button doesn't produce any lights.
This device isn't displaying anything. You need at least a CPU, memory, motherboard, and video (with integrated video in the CPU), all connected to a working power supply. It seems like a DOA motherboard and/or CPU might be involved. The burnt smell suggests a power-related problem. How recent is your PSU?
Good News!
I decided to check back and update this thread. Eventually, everything came back online after some unfortunate events—like getting a bent pin on the processor bit and a delayed motherboard. I received a new one on Friday, but it took hours to sort through it because it wasn’t accepting my RAM. After that, I reinstalled Windows on the second unit, and it’s now working except for the other hard drive. Thanks for your help.
