So I am going to explain this more clearly. I have a screen set up for 2560x1440 on my Windows PC and I play CS:GO at a refresh rate of 240Hz. Recently, when I launch the game and click away from it to see my desktop, the resolution changes down to 1920x1080 and drops to 60Hz. If I go back into Windows and try to set it back up, the moment I click back on my desktop or tab back into the game, it snaps right back to 1920x1080 at 60Hz. This has happened before too, a couple of years ago, but I don't remember exactly what I did wrong. The only temporary fix I have is uninstalling and reinstalling the driver, but that only works until my computer restarts and then everything goes back to normal. I made a short video showing this problem just in case you didn't catch it earlier, probably watch it for two minutes or more. Finally, even when I close the game and try to go back to the native resolution, Windows refuses to let me do that.

So I am not exactly sure if anybody will bother me, but just in case someone finds this issue later on, I use a program called VibranceGUI for CS:GO and there was an option named "Never Change Resolutions" that wasn't checked when I started it. At first, I didn't even think this could be an issue, so I started going over everything to check if anything had changed. Now, I am not 100% sure if the problem is totally gone forever, but for now it seems fine again. Again, I'm not sure if anyone else cares about this, but if I do end up having a problem later, I would like to keep my eye on things and make a note in case someone runs into it too. If I actually figured out how to fix it myself, please let me know!

I actually created a new account just to say thanks to you. We used exactly the same settings, but I'd never even looked at vibranceGUI before we tried it. Thank you for everything!
