I purchased a Lenovo Ideapad Gaming 3 15ARH7 laptop 1 month ago. I started using it 1-2 weeks ago. Today, while I was using the laptop it suddenly froze and immediately went to a black screen. The num lock and caps lock button didnt respond so i figured it was a full system crash. I held the power button to force a shutdown. When I try to restart the laptop the power button stays lit and the keyboard lights up for about 5 seconds but the screen stays off and the computer doesn’t boot. There are no other buttons lit up and there are no beeps. All of my drivers were updated when I first booted up the computer. The GPU driver was also reupdated 5 days ago when a new release came out. I had no problems prior to today. Ive tried the following things to remedy the problem while booting. -Disconnected all external items(Which was only my mouse). Nothing. -Windows+CTRL+Shift+B. The screen stays black. -Using the NOVO button on the side of the laptop. It does not go to the Onekey Recovery and still does the same startup sequence where nothing happens. -Trying to access the BIOS or Safe Mode using F2, F8, F12, Fn+F2,Fn+F8, Fn+F12(both pressing and holding on all of them). None brought up the BIOS menu or Safe Mode. -Removing Charger, Disconnecting the Battery, holding power button for 30 seconds, Plug in the charger, and then turning it on. Still would not boot. -Made sure RAM was seated properly. Nothing. -Connecting to external monitor with an HDMI cable and trying to use Fn+F7 to switch to it. Nothing. If this were a desktop I would have pulled the GPU and tried to start using the integrated graphics through the processor but since this is a laptop that isnt an option.(at least I dont think it is) Any help or other ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thank You.

Your laptop has a warranty. Call Lenovo or the store where you bought it; they are supposed to help you out here. If you want another option, take it to a repair shop and pay for testing + fixing things. By the way, these signs show that something inside is broken. Nothing online can fix this.

That's exactly why I'm scared. I've never had anything break in two weeks before, especially when there are no weird signs showing up. Let's look at the warranty and see if we can get a fix or a new one going. Thanks anyway for getting back to me. Really appreciate it.

Hi, I had similar issues before too. Usually it was the BIOS chip that was the problem, causing crashes. We needed to reprogram it, or sometimes we just had to remove the battery and try shorting specific pins on the board. If nothing worked then, a professional service is probably your best option for checking out the motherboard. You could also clean your RAM and test again if that didn't help either way. It sounds like you might need to go in for a full computer repair instead of just trying random tricks at home.

The computer has a broken BIOS system, so flashing it should fix the problem. Just clearing CMOS won't help because that just resets user settings to their original factory state. But when the BIOS gets corrupt, just flashing might be the only way to save the day. It's not exactly the same thing. I don't think OP is talking about a corrupted BIOS here; it sounds more like something broke physically in the hard drive or motherboard. Things like CPU, RAM and power supply could also cause trouble. Also, BIOS corruption doesn't happen just by accident.

hi, i tried on several Lenovo laptops and it worked! This reset something so everyone can do it right here at home. It's just a chance to fix things up. After that, if the laptop doesn't start up properly, you'll need to update the BIOS. If everything else is fine but it still won't turn on, then maybe the chip needs resetting or the motherboard might be broken and need some repair work in a service center.

That's the problem: without checking things right, you never know what's wrong. It's like telling someone with a flat tire to replace it (since that's usually the case). But after testing, they discover the air valve is broken instead of the tire itself. The point is, you can't guess if one fix works or not until you check first and then talk about fixing things properly.
