Does my laptop fan spin up loud and get warm right before I turn off the power?
Does my laptop fan spin up loud and get warm right before I turn off the power?
It just happens from time to time. I'm going to turn my laptop off, close the lid, and let the fan spin fast while things get hot. This only occurs sometimes. It can't be because of an app since the laptop is in sleep mode. My MSI Katana GF66 has the newest BIOS settings. What's causing this? How do I stop it from happening again?
In your "Advanced Power Settings," what do you set when it says "When I close my lid"? Because if you are manually clicking around to put your computer in sleep mode, and then close your lid before that happens, it might be trying to do both things at once. I think the choices are "Do nothing," "Sleep Mode," or "Power off." But I don't remember seeing any other options. If you choose Sleep Mode, the best way is to make sure in the Advanced Power Settings for lid closure that sleep mode gets enabled. Then you won't need to click Start on the Power button and select Sleep Mode every time.
Are you running up to date protection tools? Did you check for viruses using Malwarebytes?
No, it's just a new clean installation of Windows. There is no virus or malware involved.
No, you're not right. If you actually do something like that, how does it fix the problem? The computer should go into sleep when you turn off. Why would an app named "MSI Center" make any difference for me here?
