I own an Asus Rog Keyboard and recently used Ashampoo Driver Updater. After restarting, it stopped working again. I removed the drivers in Device Manager, powered it down and back on, but they came back. I also deleted an Asus driver from the system in Device Manager, yet it wasn't replaced. Anyone know how to get it back to work? I have a USB plugged in now.

I own an Asus Rog Keyboard and recently applied Ashampoo Driver Updater. It's important to avoid third-party tools that claim to check for firmware or driver updates, as they can damage your device. You might have used Asus's Armory Crate, which isn't ideal, or checked the official Asus website for your peripheral's latest drivers. Does the keyboard work well on a donor system? The discussion has been moved from the Components section to the Computer Peripherals section.

If all else fails, use the Windows restore point. But Ashampoo is a third-party app that might install faulty software, and Windows 11 can automatically install things that cause chaos. You can try downloading the correct drivers first, but it’s better to remove everything Ashampoo did before that. It’s simpler to do a restore point if needed. It depends on how old the system is and what data you risk losing.

Thank you for the update. After performing a system restore, I noticed the keyboard issue persists with error 0X80070005. One change I observed was in the BIOS, where only the C drive was affected. Are there any BIOS settings that could influence the keyboard functionality?

I ran Ashampoo once more, only checking the updates it provided; I discovered the keyboard update and performed a rollback. It is now working properly.

As discussed earlier, it is advisable to remove the driver updater app. These often create more issues than they resolve. They are not advised by seasoned users.
