I'm going to upgrade my computer with an Intel Core i7-10700K. I'm wondering if my current 750-watt Thermaltake power supply will be able to handle overclocking this CPU up to its 5.1 GHz speed without any problems. Here is the setup: 1080 Ti graphics card with 11 GB of VRAM, 32 GB of DDR4 RAM running at 3600 MHz, an Intel Core i7-10700K processor from a Gigabyte Z490 Vision motherboard, and a Thermaltake power supply rated for 750 watts.

The Thermal Take Smart isn't really a great piece of equipment, so maybe I should think about getting rid of it. Also, don't put expensive gadgets on cheap power supplies.

My thermal paste isn't great, so I'm thinking of swapping out that part. Also, don't try to use expensive computer parts with cheap power supplies.

Is it a good idea to run my CPU at higher speeds than its normal speed when I have lots of extra power from my graphics card and other components?

A solid 650-watt power supply will work fine, though buying a bigger one like 750 watts gives you a safety margin without adding too much cost.
