Hey, I want to swap out my laptop's hard drive for a fast Nvme SSD. Here is the setup of my HP Probook 650 g2: there is an M.2 slot right under where the old HDD sits. You can see it here at this link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1kBa314AV_E The board also has a special M.2 spot for an SSD, just like they say on the website that says they support Nvme ssds. I checked and it looks like it is PCIe 3.0, so I found a cheap older model nvmesd at my local store here: https://www.adata.com/us/consumer/solid-...LEGEND-710 One question to ask you: Do HP sell laptops where the M.2 slot is turned off by default through the hardware or by software? I have a friend who wants this, so anyone with experience could help me out?

Since I have used laptops back in 2009, I never had a "broken" slot. Sometimes old computers won't start up because of how they were built long ago, but this laptop isn't like that. Just check the video link below: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g_aiHZWXbhM

Thanks for replying. I reached out to my local HP folks too, and they say this thing works with NVMe SSDs. I'm going to swap those drives over on Friday, thinking things will work out great.
