I got a fresh RAM package today – 4000MHz CL18 for Ryzen. Checked my XMP settings and everything seems fine, but when I try to sync it with my Nb frequency in Ryzen Master, the memory clock shows the right speed yet the IF reads 1800. In the BIOS it says mem clock matches, but the CPU shows 998MHz. I’m a bit puzzled. I’ve adjusted the IF to 2000 to try and match, but it won’t boot. My motherboard specs are B550 AORUS Master, Ryzen 5 3600, 16GB DDR4, 4000MHz CL18, 3080 XCP3.

Ryzen seldom reaches speeds beyond 1850-1900 on Infinity Fabric. It might be due to instability at that level.

Infinity fabric is being split in half due to issues like instability (many CPUs struggle with 2000 IFCk) or automatic adjustments (it reduces halving when speeds exceed 3600 MT/s).

It operates smoothly at 1900 MHz and displays correctly in CPU-Z without any issues. I wasn't sure if setting the frequency to 933 was typical for a 4000 MHz board. I'll stick with 1900 for now. Thanks for the details!

i got you man thanks for the info. never tried to run a 4000mhz kit before. xmp loads fine but IF is tricky. thanks for the info tho. just gonna ruin it at 1900/1900 mainly got the kit so i have a high frequency kit for zen 3 when it comes out to play around with. i got a 3200 c16 kit as well thats 32gb

When it operates at 1900 RPM, aim to boost RAM performance to 3800 and adjust rim settings.
