Does EVGA Supernova 1000W Gold produce unusual sounds during startup and under GPU stress testing?
Dear All,
I bought an EVGA supernova 1000Watt on the 31st of December 2022 and am now experiencing this unusual noise from the PSU during GPU stress tests and when the computer starts. Could anyone tell me if this is coil whine or if the fan bearing needs replacement? The sound only occurs when the GPU is under load.
My system details:
- AMD Ryzen 9 7900X
- ASUS TUF X670E Plus with Wi-Fi
- Zotac RTX 4080
- 32GB DDR5 memory
- 1000W PSU
- Gen 4 SSD (1TB)
- Crucial SATA SSD (1TB)
- Six master cooler fans
- Lian Li Galahad 360 AIO
Please let me know if this could damage the system or if I can keep using it as it isn’t very loud. Alternatively, I might need to return it since I have a 10-year warranty. But if I do need to return it, replacement will take time.
Thanks and regards,
Raja
