Does every webmail service have this requirement?
Anytime I use a web-based mail client (like Outlook or Gmail), I'll get these pop-ups trying to get me to let it open my links. I don't want this, as I have a standalone client for that. I just need to check my emails without it trying to take over anything.
Is there a way to turn these off in Edge? Or is it hardwired behavior on all the email client sides?

Generally, I’m more tolerant of such alerts. Just choose to block or allow as needed.

Subsequent messages from that source are likely to be removed or ignored.
If uncertain, block and dig deeper as required...
