Epson Scan app works on Epson Perfection V37 but makes documents look like they had their corners cut off (top, bottom, left side, right side). Every single scan looks like it only has one corner missing each time. I can't find an option in the settings to stop this from happening. Can anyone tell me how to fix this? Thanks so much!

You might have looked into trying something like that – check out that link here: https://files.support.epson.com/doc...fe..._tray.html

Epson Scan app does not have an Auto Detect option. In Professional Mode, only a setting for Document Size exists. The default paper size is 8 1/2 " x 11.00", so none of my scanned documents are bigger than that. Some files are much smaller and get cut off in the corners.

To get rid of the Epson software, you can use VueScan. This program is free to run for a while without buying a license. You should also make sure that you have the newest drivers and programs from the official Epson website. There might even be something on their site worth checking out at https://epson.com/faq/SPT_B11B207201~faq...6127275084

Moving my document three millimeters from where it should have gone didn't fix anything. I tried updating the driver again, but it looks like Epson only gives me one thing at a time: a replacement for the scanner app that combines both the software and the driver in one package. Sadly, this new version made things worse. Before, when I started the computer, the app would just say "I can't talk to the scanner" without giving any specific error number. Even after turning it off and on again, or restarting my PC, this problem stayed. Now, after installing the update, nothing works anymore because the app is completely broken. That's strange because the Epson website doesn't tell me if the driver I downloaded fits Windows 11. Maybe that missing information was the real cause of all these problems? I'm going to run a System File Checker tonight just in case something is wrong with my operating system. If that doesn't help, I'll try using VueScan instead.

You might not have seen your printer work with Windows 11 right away. This probably means it won't run well on the new OS. Epson would need to change things so the scanner can be used today if they want to keep supporting you.

At first, I didn't think having Windows 11 was a big deal. The Epson website didn't send any warnings about this problem. I just guessed that Epson would have sent a helpful note if they really cared. No other posts or people told me anything like that. Now this makes me wonder: Is the Vue Scan okay with Windows 11, or will I need to buy a new one? Just by the way, luckily I can fix the computer-to-scanner connection problem by going back to an old system restore point. The Epson Scan app still lets you crop pictures of documents. But only if you use the Full Auto Mode does it actually scan anything. Tonight I plan on setting up the Vue Scan. Thanks for helping me out.

Here is your follow-up note: I took out the old Epson software because Vuescan can't connect to my Perfection V37 scanner. When Vuescan tried, it showed a specific error message about memory access issues. The website says changing the USB port might help, but switching from 3.0 to 2.0 didn't fix it either. Another check in Device Manager found a driver conflict. I also noticed Windows wasn't finding a driver for my laptop. Since I already have the combined Vuescan and Epson app installed, having two different drivers is probably unnecessary. Now that we've had this issue before, let's try something new to solve the connection problem without reinstalling everything.
