I need a liquid cooler for overclocking in my first build. I'm new to this, so be straightforward. I plan to use an RTX 2060 with a Ryzen 5 2600X and want to check if the Coolermaster Masterliquid Lite ml240l AIO fits in a NZXT h500i. I've seen the h500i specs and it mentions space for a 280mm radiator, while my AIO is a 240mm one. It says it usually fits cases, but I'm not sure if it will work here. Also, any advice on bottlenecking? I'm uncertain if either the 2060 or the Ryzen 5 2600X limits performance equally. Thanks!

The specifications mention a GPU clearance of 381mm. It isn't specified whether fans are present in the front, but if we consider the worst case where no fans are mounted there, your AI model would occupy roughly 55-60mm, leaving about 321mm of space for the GPU. With a GPU size of 300mm, that means only 21mm remains.

If a 280 works, then a 240 will also work. There shouldn't be any slowdown between the 2600x and RX 2600. Even the figures match, hehe. JK.

Even the numbers match, LOL. JK.
I'm struggling to tell if you meant to type in an RX 2600 or not.

I admit. It looked funny back then. But honestly, everything else turned out to be correct.

I need a liquid cooler for overclocking in my first build. I'm new to this, so don't worry too much. I'm planning to use an RTX 2060 with a Ryzen 5 2600X and I want to know if the Coolermaster Masterliquid Lite ml240l AIO will fit in a NZXT h500i. I've checked the specs on the h500i and it mentions it can accommodate a 280mm radiator, which I thought would work since my AIO is a 240mm model. It says it usually fits most cases, but I'm not sure if it will actually fit in this case. Also, I'm curious about bottlenecking – do the 2060 and Ryzen 5 2600X compete at all? Any advice would be great before making a purchase.

ONLY this recommendation fits well. Unlike some critics, research from within the veteran group indicates that front-mounted AIO radiators don’t provide enough efficiency to raise internal case temperatures significantly when used in a front-mount intake setup. This means worries about releasing heat into the case are unnecessary and not an issue. That should be acceptable. Even if you opt for a top mount, the front position would likely perform similarly or better, as it would utilize outside air to cool the CPU, which usually works more effectively than relying on warmed air from the GPU, drives, and VRMs.

As for GPU card lengths, I haven’t found any RTX 2060 models longer than 300mm available for sale, except for the top-tier Strix cards, which are around 290mm or shorter.

Using heat into the case from liquid cooling—or even a custom water cooling setup—can be somewhat irrelevant as long as you maintain strong case ventilation and exhaust fans. As long as we're not dealing with large AIOs, the air flowing through the radiator should remain only mildly warm at most. Strong case airflow will help expel this heat efficiently with little effect.

Apologies for the delay. The Asus Strix RXT 2070 OC you mentioned is about 300.5 mm long—should it fit with the ML240 and NZXT H500i?
