Does a question E900 router have low internet speed?
You can definitely connect both devices now. Newer wifi 6 routers use OFDMA, which keeps more data for many users at once instead of cutting them off one by one. Two cameras will work fine together. However, you probably won't hit the fastest speeds because they are sharing bandwidth constantly. Since your new router has three radio channels (3x3), it should handle traffic much better than an old model that only had two.
You are reading this too carefully. Only one device can speak at once, so they must take turns sending data. Even though it looks like the camera is talking all the time, it isn't. It sends information in small pieces with short pauses between them. The devices more or less race for the radio space, each taking a turn when they have room. This is why adding more cameras makes the signal weaker as there are too many fighting over the airwaves. You won't have problems with just two cameras. Unless you have some really fancy 4K cameras and aren't using much compression, then you can easily send two feeds through even 10 mbps of internet. Getting higher would be better, but that might just be a limit of your camera, not your router.
That makes sense, and yes, if the speed was really 600mbps on the 2.4 gig band, splitting it means both the camera and data get their own part of it at the same time. If that's not what happened, then the camera won't receive the full rate, so maybe we should be using 300mbps instead to make sure everything works as intended?
Please tell me your model number right away. It is very unlikely you will ever get fast connection on 2.4 gigahertz because that needs special technology called MIMO, which means four antennas instead of two or three. Most cameras only have one antenna. You can't fix this by just buying a $1000 router; the camera itself must be able to handle multiple signals to work properly with that hardware.
Yeah I get that, so yes, running at half speed with one extra 4G antenna on top. The cameras are pretty old DCS 936L models.
