Hi everyone,
I’m experiencing an unusual problem with my recent PC setup. When I first turn it on in the evening to play games, the frame rate is significantly lower than normal. After a quick restart, the performance improves considerably. For instance, in Counter Strike 2, I see around 210fps at startup, but jump to 320–400fps after a restart.
I thought this might be related to Windows 10’s Fast Boot feature, but it’s now turned off and the issue continues.
I’ve tried several steps:
- Ran the Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU) to remove graphics drivers
- Reinstalled or updated the graphics drivers
- Updated or flashed the BIOS to the latest version
Could anyone help identify what might be causing this? I’d prefer not to have to restart the PC every time I power it up.
My system details are:
Motherboard – MSI B650I Edge (AM5 Socket)
CPU – AMD Ryzen 7800X3D AM5
GPU – ASUS RTX 3070 (DUAL OC 8GB GDDR6)
RAM – G.SKill DDR5 RipJaws S5 32GB (6000Mhz)
PSU – Corsair SF750
SSD – 500GB Samsung 970 Evo Plus M.2 SSD

if that resolves the issue, it's probably an outdated driver.
If you're on Windows 11, that shouldn't be the case. It should be off.
Update chipset drivers since you have the latest BIOS?

Do you connect via Wi-Fi or Ethernet?
If using Ethernet, get the latest from

since they're only a week old.
I assume you don't use a Wi-Fi dongle because the motherboard already has it. Just checking for any additional devices that might be causing the problem.
Hey, it's Windows 10. I've already tried disabling fast boot as mentioned in the previous post, but the problem continues.
I've updated all the drivers you listed, yet the issue remains.
I prefer using Ethernet instead of Wi-Fi. My PC has very few other devices connected, it's quite simple.
