Does a laptop battery's charge capacity decrease to 58% after nearly two years be typical?
I own an MSI Modern 14 Laptop, which I used for everyday tasks and light gaming. After almost two years, I noticed my battery drains quickly. The wear level has dropped to 58%, and sometimes it drops to 0% during restarts or when the laptop is turned on after being idle for a while. I’m wondering if I should replace the battery or if I can still use it while charging for about a year or two. I’m worried it might become more dangerous or swollen, so I don’t want to buy a new one right now.
Eventually, all batteries must be changed, but using an AC adapter continuously can delay the need for replacement. Many smartphones and computers come with their original batteries lasting their entire lifespan.
