Documentation and system boards
Hi, your friend might be facing hardware-related problems beyond BIOS settings. Check the motherboard for faults, loose connections, or faulty components. Even without DOCP, issues like overheating, power supply instability, or physical damage can cause BSODs.
DOCP functions more like an overclock rather than a standard setting, and its performance isn't assured. A 3200Mhz clock speed may not be optimal but should perform adequately with a Ryzen 5600x. Updating the BIOS can enhance RAM compatibility and overall stability.
I revised my message since it needed more clarity: I’m not suggesting you fix the system. I don’t think I can solve any problems myself. What I mean is: aside from the usual odds and challenges... the kit isn’t that fast, and it shouldn’t be too difficult. For context: - The RAM is brand new, purchased in early December, and was used for a full month on my personal setup without any issues. - My brother owned the CPU, which worked perfectly. It was paired with a faster unit. - The only less reliable part is the motherboard, which I haven’t tested much before sharing it as a gift. That’s why I’m wondering if a hardware or physical problem there could be causing this issue.
Based on what I've seen, especially with builds like Buildzoid, the main factors affecting RAM performance are the number of layers on the PCB and the board layout. For a 2x16 at 3200 MHz, those issues probably don't matter much since modern AM4 boards are more robust. If something were to fail completely, it's unlikely the slots would simply stop working entirely.
I totally understand, though it's a bit confusing. I'll make sure to keep this discussion current once I discover a solution.
