D.O.C.P raises voltage, is that acceptable?
I want to increase my RAM's clock speed to take advantage of Ryzen's performance gains. I attempted manual overclocking earlier, but it didn't succeed. Now I'm considering using DOCP for this purpose, aiming to raise the voltage from 1.2V to 1.35V. I'm worried about potential damage to my RAM or system, especially since I'm unfamiliar with adjusting voltages during overclocking. I don't want to risk damaging anything and am unsure if this approach is safe. Could this affect the lifespan of my RAM? I'm hesitant and would prefer to avoid any mistakes. Should I proceed, or should I stay cautious?
what ram kit are you using? 1.35v is usually fine for DDR4. If your xmp profile changes it to 1.35, then it should be okay. Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4@2400mhz. I plan to increase it to 2666mhz and also boost the voltage to 1.35v. Will this affect the lifespan of the ram? Will it stop working after a few years or can it last three years or more?
