You experienced the same issue with your Asus B450-ma, Ryzen 5 2600, and Corsair 3000 2x8GB. Changing the DIMM slots to A2/B2 and turning on DOCP resolved it completely! Great job on getting everything running smoothly again. Appreciate the help!

You should still rearrange your RAM chips, even with all slots occupied.

4 sticks usually don’t hit XMP performance on Ryzen without ideal settings. Use top-grade RAM, fresh BIOS updates, and a robust motherboard. Apply XMP first, then reduce the speed before applying changes.

This article helped me understand the issue. The ASUS TUF Gaming x570-Plus with Ryzen 3700X fails to boot with DOCP enabled, but works when the slot is swapped to A2/B2 instead of A1/B1.

It is clear that all major mainstream systems favor A2/B2 setups for two DIMMs because most rely on a daisy-chain memory layout, and many completely reject A1/B1 for two DIMMs. Once this problem is addressed, I recommend using a Ryzen DRAM calculator for optimizing RAM settings, especially for those running on Ryzen platforms—it significantly impacts latency-sensitive applications.
