Do you want to upgrade your RAM?
Hello, consider the upgrade from your dual channel 16GB 3000MHz CL16 (16-18-18-38) to the CL18 (18-22-22-42) Corsair Vengeance. For gaming at 1440p144Hz, 9600k 5.0GHz, Z390 Aorus Pro, RTX 3070, 970 EVO Plus and 1TB SSD, it’s a worthwhile investment.
Using a 9600K is unlikely; you’re more likely constrained by cache or thread limits before RAM speed becomes a problem. I boosted my DDR4-3000 to 3200, but results stayed the same. Sure, my RTX 2060 Super isn’t a 3070, yet no noticeable gains appeared in games. I’d consider a 9900K if it’s affordable or a fresh build before spending on more RAM. As mentioned earlier, you can still overclock existing RAM—there’s a high chance it could run at 3200 without major issues, and there’s a reasonable possibility it might hit 3600 with some adjustments.
We're not claiming the 9600K is bad overall. It handles most games well. What we mean is that adding more RAM speed doesn't necessarily boost performance.
