Do you want some game recommendations to break the monotony?
Do you want some game recommendations to break the monotony?
I tried playing metaphone fantazio when it came out, but i stopped after a point where you have to do a lot of side quests all at once and you're kind of limited to what you can do (by time in the day and other stuff). It's a fun game, but idl making dialouge discissions and didn't feel like using a walkthrough, i only use walkthroughs for game series i really like that somewhat require it (final fantasy, and after beating/end game of other games, and some that have missables, but hate when games have missable items tbh)
I would love to play a game similar to My Life As A King Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles, but can't find something similar enough. I beat dragon quest builders 2, idt i need to beat 1.
Kind of tired of racing games, nfs was my favorite, but not really much else to do in those games, same with cods. I will be getting Borderlands 4, but doesn't come out until september.
Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 my brother said it's good, but i haven't even played final fantasy rebirth since i don't really feel like playing a serious/game i have to take seriously, i like voluntarily taking a game serious here and there rn, want something laid back like MLaaK FFCC, but also somewhat of a challenge, has stats, possibly ability points. Simpsons Hit & Run is another type of game that makes me think fun, challenging, and doesn't feel too repetitive.
I gotten tons of free games from Epic games launcher that i have not touched, i've gotten everything from probably after the yr gta v was free since i already had it for xbox, i didn't care to get it and didn't know epic does it every week.
Any and all game suggestions would be appreciated. Looking for both single player and multiplayer games, but i guess mostly single player. I play pm every genre except sims, minecraft, among us type of games, but i'll play a game if it has some of their qualities in the game, just hate when dressing, exploring, and socializing is the only focus of the game. So sims, no man's sky, and r.e.p.o/lethal company are the type of games i pretty much never play. Every other games, i typically play. Also, fighting games aren't as fun after you beat everyone.
Some of my top games i've played to maybe give you an idea of games i like that i would love to play if they were new (don't really like playing games over again and beat some multiple times or over did everything in these games): mario galaxy (no interest in playing astro bot, and don't have a ps5), zelda tofk, perfect dark (n64), dk country 64, south park game n64, my life as a king, gta san andrea/vice city, any jrpg (not a fire emblem style rn), Nier Automata, Dragon quest xi (only dq main game i've played, waiting for 12 to get a release date), tower defense games (think the ffcc ones were my favorite), etc.
I stopped playing genshin impact, i don't like the gacha and feel like i'm so far behind, played the first 2 months it came out, i also hate the resin, makes it feel like a job.
I also have a switch 2 with mario kart world, just have not opened it yet because i don't like the EULA and they're having a legal battle about it rn, thanks Brazil.
I'm even willing to play some old games, whatever comes to mind, i played all types of games both ps5 god of wars, kingdom hearts series, etc. just need to maybe broaden my horizon (don't think i'd want to play that either lol).
Thanks for any suggestions.
Baldur's Gate 3 performs well alongside several earlier titles in its category. Cyberpunk offers a visually enhanced experience similar to GTA. For fans of first-person shooters, the Division and Clancy series are worth considering. If you enjoyed older Diablo games, Grim Dawn stands out as a strong option. Newer Star Wars-themed releases might appeal to you, though they’re mostly ported versions. The Forza racing series is decent but limited in support, especially newer titles. I lost interest in the NFS games after HEAT due to persistent issues on PC. My thoughts on the new Indiana Jones project lean toward caution, as it feels too similar to Tomb Raider. Overall, I’m not eager to invest in any new releases right now. I tend to wait for discounts or free trials before committing, and I’ve often taken advantage of free games by downloading them when they’re available but rarely playing them afterward. The Wolfenstein series is the latest free title I enjoyed, though its presentation style made it uncomfortable for me.
I've only supported one game in my 65 years, using the BBC B computer. I never wanted to play any games, even though I would have loved to. My Autism made it difficult.

I'm unsure about your preferred genre since you've referenced so many varied styles. Here are some suggestions that fit the vibe you mentioned.
- Undertale: a great pick if you haven't tried it yet, offering humor and clever gameplay from an JRPG creator for fans of JRPGs
- Sleeping Dogs: a charming GTA clone set in Hong Kong
- Saints Row 3-4: other lighter GTA imitations released on Epic. Though not my favorite, they have a loyal following. Watch Dogs 1 and 2 were also distributed as giveaways.
In my opinion, there are two issues with games right now.
1. when was the last time you experienced a game that said nobody has made something like that before... perhaps game companies are running out of ideas.
2. clones... I’ll give two examples. Suddenly we have many games that resemble Valheim, and since they started gaining industry recognition for their effort, there’s been a big rise in construction-themed titles.
There’s also another problem gamers face—something else that affects them.
It’s not as good as XYZ syndrome.
Take me for instance... I’ve been playing Satisfactory for about three years, but when I wait for new content, I end up saying it’s not as good as others.
The progress in video game development and content updates has been quite slow since the Covid19 pandemic. Major tech companies took advantage of this by cutting developer positions, aiming to maximize profits while slightly reducing quality. Many individuals I know or those near me have turned to playing retro games on virtual machines, even purchasing them from places like Goodwill just for entertainment. People are really seeking better quality entertainment because movies, TV shows, and games have been poor since Covid19. Some also grew tired of Ubisoft-style titles, which were once beloved franchises like Assassins Creed. Those who originally created the concept were abruptly removed from the studio, and the French CEO reworked the series into a Fortnite-inspired game. Running retro games on a VM is an option, though consoles can handle them but not Windows 10 or 11. Microsoft keeps insisting on using Microsoft Edge as the default browser, which I will never do.
Games stay the same, people change! Just finished BG3 and Elden Ring. I enjoyed Dark Souls and BG1/2 back then. My new routine made BG3 less fun, but Elden Ring was great! I don’t have time left. I need to be able to play for about half an hour and grasp what I’m doing to make progress. I might have missed most of the story in BG3. I’m currently in Metaphor and feel the same. I miss a lot from an immersive point of view but will finish. Also thinking about Expedition 33 but worried about time constraints. Maybe I’ll try AoE now since I remember loving the old ones, though it’s unclear if it fits my lifestyle anymore.
It seems like you're considering taking a pause from gaming. I'm here to help with that. Would you like some suggestions on how to enjoy your time without getting bored?
