I own a Unifi Network set up with a USG-3 router and two AP-Lite access points. I also have some switches for wired devices connected to them. The problem is that the USG-3 only goes up to about 89Mb when all the monitoring features are turned on. I like the user interface and the stats, but I need more speed. Unifi doesn't offer anything better until they sell their USG-Pro which costs way too much money. Is there a wireless router with two or three ports that has good stats and monitoring, works well with my unifi switches and APs, and can use more of my 300M cable link? Or can it handle even more bandwidth?

The Dream Machine or Dream Router are the UniFI tools you need at home. The new model, Dream Router, takes over because your old USG and cloudkey cards will be swapped out for it. Also, a brand-new Wi-Fi access point is built into this unit.

Are you really getting something out of your IDS and IPS? In which situation does this system matter most to you?

I think that's right. My USG-Pro4 came with IDS/IPS turned on when I started, but I didn't see any bad stuff coming out of it, so I turned the feature off later.
