Do you think you're the only one having trouble with third-party apps on Windows 11?
Do you think you're the only one having trouble with third-party apps on Windows 11?
It began with Chrome, then my PDF files wouldn't open and Chrome stopped working entirely. I restarted my laptop several times without success. The issue shifted to WhatsApp Web, which completely failed, only showing a blank screen. I had to remove and reinstall Chrome for it to function again. Earlier that day, I used WhatsApp Web for about twenty minutes before the problem occurred. Now Apex Legend won't load, and I keep seeing an error about "Failed to CreateGameWindow. Resolution 1280 x 720 unsupported?" Deleting and reinstalling from the browser didn't help either. I've tried various fixes online, but nothing worked. I'm planning to delete and reinstall it. I last played Apex Legend a week prior. I'll update if anything changes. My system runs a Dell Latitude 3310 with a Core i3-8145U CPU.
Verify if your CPU is compatible with Windows 11. It appears to be supported, but this might lead to software conflicts—consider a clean installation after backing up your data. Also, it would be wise to wait until you can afford a more powerful laptop before upgrading to Windows 11; I’ve only used Windows 12 on approved hardware without issues, and I’m an insider beta tester.
This update works across multiple devices, including both supported and unsupported hardware. Was it an upgrade or a fresh installation?
I've been running Windows 11 since its initial release, and everything has worked perfectly. My hardware is fully compatible, and even my older laptop, which is over seven years old, runs without any problems. I'm really puzzled about what's going on.
Updated: Removed and readded Apex Legends, but the issue persists and I can't adjust screen brightness.
I've applied recent software updates and a graphics driver fix.
I identified the problem. I looked at my device manager and noticed an issue with the graphic driver installation. My screen brightness is normal and Apex is functioning, but I’m not sure if that explains the Chrome and WhatsApp web problems. Anyone facing similar issues should check their device manager for potential fixes.
I use a M.2 drive instead of a SATA one, and I’m not sure it was the problem since my other software worked well and I just switched recently.
